Adrianne embraced a love of writing at the young age of 11, when she would impress her teachers with the creativity of her projects. Soon enough, she was scribbling and doodling on almost every scrap of paper she could get her hands on. This compounded into being a nearly finished novel during her religion classes in high school. But she quickly scrapped it, realizing that what she wrote was crap.

Years later, she would attend Western Michigan University, where she studied under the watchful eye of Steven Feffer (Little Airplanes of the Heart, The Wizards of Quiz). In 2006, she received a Bachelor of Arts for creative writing, with specialization in novel and play writing.

The summer of 2005 brought Adrianne’s first brush with the spotlight. As part of WMU’s New Playwriting Project, her 30 page script entitled Dave Matthews is Going to Hell was presented to an audience of about 50 people. The small, script-in-hand production was directed by Prescott Seymour (Sweeney Todd, The Sutton Lee Seymour Show) and starred Allison Shoemaker (The Ruckus Theatre, Chicago). The production received great laughs and a standing ovation, even including impromptu moments within the performance. Adrianne hopes to turn Dave Matthews is Going to Hell into a full length, two act stage production.

After a hiatus from the academic world, Adrianne returned to school via Wayne State University. In the spring of 2015, she graduated with a Masters in library and information science. She currently works in the public library sector as a Young Adult & Teen librarian and loves the heck out of it!

Adrianne’s published work includes the novel Lore: the Legend of River. She is currently writing her second novel, Tipitina & Bourbon.

She is an active participant in National Novel Writing Month (also known as NaNoWriMo), being a winner of the project multiple times.

Adrianne currently resides in Metro Detroit with her family, which includes a dog and two cats. When she’s not writing or reading, she enjoys travelling adventures, board games, and cupcakes. And naps. Naps are good.
